Discover nature, culture and gastronomy in the Luberon

The Lubéron’s attraction lies in its landscapes, which have preserved their strong regional identity and are bathed in a unique Provençal light.

The Lubéron is home to numerous delightful villages dating from the Middle Ages, such as Gordes, Ménerbes and Oppède-le-Vieux, many of which are perched on narrow spits of rock with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.

The Parc du Lubéron also boasts myriad local specialities including three AOC wines which will be popular with wine enthusiasts:

  • Côtes du Lubéron (throughout the park),
  • an area dedicated to Côtes du Ventoux
  • an area dedicated to Côteaux de Pierrevert.

Honey, olive oil, truffles and crystallised fruits are other products which will also prove popular with food-lovers, not forgetting ceramics for those who enjoy collecting local art and craftwork.

The park is also the ideal setting for a range of outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, climbing etc.

Suggested outdoor activities:

Whether you prefer a short half-day walk, a long-distance hike or exploring an area from a single base, why not take advantage of the park’s 1,000km of marked paths to discover the Lubéron?
Stroll around vineyards, perhaps ending your walk with a tour and tasting at one of our local wine-producers.

Another possibility is to explore the Lubéron by bicycle, either via easy cycle routes or more challenging mountain bike trails. Guided via clearly marked signs, why not head off on a journey of discovery along the area’s secret country roads and tracks?
Or perhaps you’d prefer to explore the Lubéron’s diverse landscapes for a couple of hours on a unique horse-trekking adventure?

The landscapes of the Lubéron will also delight those of a more adventurous nature, with pot-holing, climbing and several adventure parks all on offer here!
