8 (almost) daily live concerts with French artists to watch from home

Music won't stop just because we're stuck at home! French artists are taking note and a certain number of them are taking to social media to offer us free (and sometimes daily) live shows from their homes. Music is said to soothe the wild beast—let's give it a shot! (All times are in French hours)

Bob Sinclair

The internationally known French DJ Bob Sinclar unveils his hour-long sets posted on his Facebook page every day at 2 pm. His music is amazing, as well as his ironic and hilarious style.
He will also play at the top of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on Monday, May 4, to raise money for the fight against Covid-19. Not open to the public (obviously), the performance will be broadcast live in partnership with Cercle Music (External link) !

To entertain his fans, the singer revisits his repertoire by posting a song every day at 8 p.m. on the Facebook page of Baboo Music, his daughter's label. Live from his home in Lot-et-Garonne, he performs songs little known in his career, or sometimes just strums a few chords!

Matthieu Chedid

The multi-instrumentalist -M- creates live concerts on Facebook! He put a poetic recitation mixing music, songs and texts online, in the company of actor Pierre Richard. The performance, which they were to perform on stage at La Scala, is a tribute to the artist's grandmother, the poet Andrée Chedid, who would have celebrated her 100th birthday this year. He also offered a "Big little brunch" made at home with his daughter Billie. Perfect for entertaining the whole family!

Bonus: Laurent Garnier

This is not an event, strictly speaking, but Laurent Garnier, a pioneering and internationally respected French DJ, has posted a 7-hour set on his Souncloud account. It was recorded last November in the city of Contact in Tokyo. There is no doubt that this will help occupy your days or long evenings in spring if you're a music fan!
