2018 Michelin Guide: A Galaxy of New Stars in Paris

Fifteen Parisian restaurants were added to the 2018 Michelin guide, bringing the total number of starred institutions to 106!

The 2018 Michelin guide again rewards the creativity and dynamism of Parisian chefs. This year, 15 new places got their first star and joined the Michelin ranks.

The new holders of a Michelin star in Paris are restaurants Mavrommatis, Emporio Armani Caffè, Quinsou, Loiseau Rive Gauche, Pertinence, Copenhague, L'Ecrin, Le Chateaubriand, Table – Bruno, Montée, Alan Geaam, Comice, Etude, L'Arcane and Ken Kawasaki.

Those new talents, working in nine different arrondissements, represent the diversity and the richness of the Paris gastronomy stage. They join the exclusive club of starred restaurants in Paris, alongside the big names that have made Paris the international capital of cuisine.

In total this year, Paris holds 106 starred restaurants, against 97 last year, including 10 three star restaurants, 16 two star restaurants and 80 one star.

The award was also given to other French regions with two new three stars restaurants outside of Paris (Christophe Bacquié and La Maison des Bois - Marc Veyrat), five new two stars locations (Au 14 Février, Takao Takano, Jean Sulpice, Hostellerie Jérôme, and Flaveur), and 35 new one star places.
