The Goût de/Good France project was launched by the Erstwhile Tourism minister, H.E. Mr Laurent Fabius, under the aegis of celebrated chef Alain Ducasse – aimed, over the space of a dinner, to salute the excellence of French cuisine, its innovative skills, and the values that it
conveys: bringing people together over a shared meal, the pleasure of taste,
and the balance between human beings and the products of nature.
This international event came in the wake of “Gastronomic Meal of the French” being inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List.
India had responded enthusiastically to this project with 50 restaurants participating
to be a part of this event. To give an impetus to this project, the Embassy of
France in India and Atout France - France Tourism Development Agency in
partnership with Air France, Rail Europe, Accor Hotels - Novotel Paris Centre
Tour Eiffel, Hôtel Mercure Reims Centre Catherdrale and Le Cordon Bleu had launched an
online contest encouraging patrons to dine at any of the participating
restaurants with a trip for two to France as the contest prize.
