The Tahitian Tour 2015
The Tahitian Tour (known as La Ronde Tahitienne) is a timed cyclosportive road cycling event that is included in the schedule of French Polynesia's big events.
Cyclosportive events fuse bike touring and cycling competitions through offering several options for all the cyclists. In this vein, the organizers provide race bibs, rankings and timekeeping, similar to a marathon.
Organized by the Vélo Club de Tahiti et ses Îles, the competition offers three options: the Grande Ronde (68 mi grand tour), the Petite Ronde (31 mi short tour) and the Ronde Loisir (9 mi pleasure tour), for ages 13 and over, and will take place at the Pirae Velodrome.
Other than the fact pedaling along the roads next to the sea or on trails throughout the interior of the island is a very pleasant way to explore the country, the organizers of the Tahitian Tour want to contribute to the development of tourism in French Polynesia.
Therefore, a program has been created for fitness-minded people from abroad who would like to enjoy an active vacation in one of the most beautiful places on the planet while exploring the stunning landscapes of French Polynesia.
