Gastronomy Festival: 16 ideas to enjoy


On September 22, 23 and 24, 2017, a multitude of small and large events celebrate French culinary culture. The 7th edition will feature the theme "Au coeur du produit". This is an opportunity for the chefs of the whole of France to put forward their gastronomical delights. On the programme: visits, tastings and unusual activities to discover during three delightful days. Small selection of events to appease:

 

Alpes - Mont Blanc

. Isère Food Festival in Grenoble: a festive, gourmet and popular rendezvous under the sign of the conviviality, sharing and valorization of local know-how, under the majestic vault of the Market of National Interest of Grenoble. Isère Food Festival returns for a second edition under the national theme "Au cœur du produit". Willingness to carry loud and strong the gastronomic identity Isère, to enhance the attractiveness of the territory in terms of gastronomy!

 

Biarritz - Basque Country
. Pierre Oteiza "from the fork to the fork": in the valley of the Aldudes, in the heart of the Pyrenees, Pierre Oteiza, a breeder and a seasonal artisan, invites you to discover the Basque pork, the ancestral Kintoa that made the Tables of the Kings of France and Navarre reknown. Come and discover the Kintoa breeding, its transformation and taste its dark red and blue meat, fondant to wish that gives an inimitable and powerful taste to its pulpit and to the ham of the Kintoa!

 

Bordeaux
. "Georgia, the cradle of viticulture" at the Cité du Vin: in connection with the exhibition, which highlights Georgia as a guest vineyard, a large Georgian banquet is organized on Saturday 23 September 2017. A spectacular event to celebrate liturgy of wine at table with its "priest", the tamada, which organizes by toast the celebratory speech!

 

Burgundy
. Week-end Gourmand du Chat Perché in Dole: the event proposes you to meet the patrimonies and the flavors of Burgundy-Franche-Comté. From the vegetable garden to the plate, the quality at the heart of the product. On the occasion of the Fête de la Gastronomie, the city becomes a huge gourmet village for three days. Spectacles, menus, meetings with producers and artisans ...

. Fantastic Picnic: a simple and friendly formula, the picnic, or more precisely, more than thirty "Fantastic picnic". Organized in amazing places, these can take the form of a garden party, a disguised encounter, a treasure hunt, a guinguette ... All different, the "Fantastic picnic" offer you different formulas according to their geographical area. So there's something for everyone!

 

Brittany
. Rennes Festival Gourmand: carried by the remarkable complicity of the binomial "producers / chefs", the festival valorises the creativity of the restaurants and pancakes of the metropolis of Rennes for 2 days, through competitions on different themes. You can also find animations on the markets, forums, cooking demonstrations ... The complete programme is to be found at the tourist office of Rennes.

 

French Riviera
. Cassis Star Grape Harvests: go with the gastronomy and the wines of Cassis. A weekend rich in flavors with more than 30 free show-cookings in the village and the port, 35 exhibitors at the Market of producers and craftsmen, cooking classes given by starred chefs, oenology masterclasses, 2 exceptional evenings and much more.
. Châteauneuf-du-Pape Producers' Federation: discover the vineyard of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate through a gourmet visit. Initiation to the grape harvest in the vineyard of Châteauneuf-du-pape, visit of the cellars and aperitif and picnic offered in the open air.

 

Lyon
. Africa50: every year, the event "Saveurs et gourmandises africaines à Lyon" (SAGALY) aims to promote and enhance the culinary richness and diversity of Africa and the Caribbean in all their dimensions. The Festival of Gastronomy will be the occasion to give a foretaste ... For 2017, the collective Africa50 holds a stand for free tasting of exotic food and drinks.

 

Normandy
. Les Beaux Arts Culinaires: product valorisation, Norman gastronomy and its actors organized by the Regional Institute of Food Quality of Normandy (Irqua). The great Norman chefs are invited to visit a museum and create recipes, inspired by the paintings exhibited at the museum in which they will come to ensure culinary animation. They create mouth-watering dishes and offer tastings, on site, to the delight of visitors, enhancing both paintings and Norman products. For this 3rd edition, 7 Norman museums and more than 70 chefs participate in the operation. Amateurs of arts, families, curious, tourists, gourmets and gourmands ... are invited to taste Normandy through museums.

 

Paris
. The international village of gastronomy: the village has received more than 25 000 visitors in 2016 and returns the cover after the success of its first edition. An invitation to a world tour in central Paris, a journey to the heart of culinary and cultural heritage of more than 50 countries. Tastings, cooking demonstrations, concerts, dance performances, costumes and decorations from elsewhere.
. Street Food Temple: Sharing experiences, flavors and tastes is a value at the heart of Food Temple through large banquets orchestrated by the Relais & Châteaux chefs. Colombia will be honored at the Tile of the Temple and will be celebrated as part of the France-Colombia Year with supermercado, bal cumbia and salsa, feasts thanks to the Colombian chefs invited for the opening of this new culinary highlight! The opportunity for everyone to discover, learn, share, savor, enjoy, in short to make its market.

 

Provence
. Fête de la Gastronomie en Provence: the three days are celebrated every year around events that highlight local products and initiatives: local talent in markets, picnics and banquets, visits and of kitchen demonstrations. Many municipalities participate.


Toulouse - Pyrenees
. Toulouse à Table: the pink city celebrates its gastronomy around varied events throughout the city. A dozen Food Trucks meet to discover local and gastronomic products, through a new mode of sale, namely the "Food Truck" ... And a great citizen banquet, highlight of this beautiful event!

 

Loire valley
. Gourmet stroll in Amboise: the gourmet stroll through the city center of Amboise will link three historical monuments Le Clos Lucé, Château Gaillard, Chateau d'Amboise. During this walk, several brotherhoods are valued: the Nougat of Tours, the Wines of Touraine, the Rillons of Tours, the goat cheeses of Touraine. The restaurateurs propose and showcase the Tourangeau pig "the pink king". In the evening a giant picnic will be organized at the Chanteloup Pagoda.


. Loire Festival in Orleans: As part of the 8th edition of the Festival de Loire, from 20 to 24 September 2017, Orléans Métropole will celebrate the Festival of Gastronomy. The opportunity to taste the common menu that will be proposed to the restaurateurs "Tapas de Loire" to honor the guest of the Festival, Spain. An exhibition will also be celebrating the feast with works made of sugar on the theme of boats. There is also "Le Chausson de Loire" which the Loiret bakers have just created.
