European Museum Night 2016 fr

This pan European event gives the opportunity to visit museums for free from 7:00pm to 1:00am, to (re)discover them through their expositions and unique events: thematic evenings, concerts, projections, treasure hunts, performances...

From Lille to Marseille with a stop in Bordeaux, here is a look of what you had the chance to discover throughout France, in 2015:

Lille and its « Happy Duck » at the Palais des Beaux-Arts

The Palais des Beaux-Arts had an entire week-end dedicated to the OPEN MUSEUM #3 with a distinguished guest: ZEP!

Paris

  • The Grand Palais

The Grand Palais invited us to discover 5 of its main expositions for free: Viola, Auguste, Mapplethorpe, Portinari, Monumenta

  • The Musée d'Orsay

The Musée d'Orsay will be transformed into a concert hall and will welcome David Enhco and his formation, The Amazing Keystone Big Band. These nineteen young jazzmen will revisit jazz classics from 1848 to 1914, and make them their own.

    • Musée Carnavalet

The Musée Carnavalet will offer a lyrical show in its gardens: a plethora of famous opera
arias.

 Lyon

  • A tour by night of the painted walls, by the urban museum Tony-Garnier

Enjoy evening strolls to discover the painted walls of
the city, guided by Shantaram Tumbada.

  • Saturday night fever at the Gallo-Roman Museum of Fourvière

The museum payed tribute to the seventies and to
its opening (1975) throughout a Satudray Night Fever themed evening – from 7:00pm
to 1:00am.

Marseille and its Museum of
European and Mediteranean Civilizations

The MuCEM specially opened its doors until midnight. With family or friends,
it’s easy to explore and discover its different dedicated spaces… A dozen
storytellers can be found throughout the museum, giving life to many stories,
universes and languages.

Impressionist Normandy

  • The Vernon Museum

The Museum offers an exceptional evening until 11:30pm,
to discover the exposition « Portraits de femmes » (« Women portraits »)
and activities related to this theme. The exposition gives the opportunity to
retrace History and to discover women artists who led the way through the
impressionism movement, often in the shadows of male figures.

  • The Alfred Canel Museum

From 7:00pm to 11:00pm: Free visit of the museum
and exposition. Starting at 9:00pm, a fun, singing and musical animation will
be put together by the Filles du Bord de
Scène

The Louvre-Lens Museum

The Louvre-Lens
museum offers to its guests the possibility to participate to ongoing creative
workshops. Come discover the exposition and let your imagination run free! Everything
is free, from 5:00pm to midnight.

  • Eyes wide shut:

Are you ready to live an experience that will
excite your senses? You are invited to replicate a specific artwork, without
even seeing it. Trust your senses… An activity made to be shared with a
partner!

  • Drawing Marathon:

Feel like taking part in a 120 meter long
collective? Come draw your part of the artwork which is as big as the Galerie
du Temps. It will be unveiled at 11:00pm!

  • What a strange coincidence:

What do a broken jar, a beaten man and a camel have
in common? Everything is possible at the museum… Pick out three random words,
make up a story, illustrate it with images and compare your imagination to
Charles Le Brun’s.
