2015 Tour de France: the 102nd Edition
July 4 to July 26, 2015
Netherlands is set to host its sixth Grand Départ of the Tour de France in the city of Utrecht, in 2015.
Varied difficulties, scattered opportunities, and multiple strategic options are at the heart of the 102nd Tour de France itinerary. Next year’s route sees ground-breaking proportions of flat stages, mountains, time trials, and potential traps that could trip up predictions.
The Mountains... Right before the End
The 2015 Tour de France highly favours climbers. The penultimate stage will conclude with the ascent to Alpes d’Huez the day before the ceremonial finish on Champs-Elysées.
Suffice to say; tension will remain throughout the race as the decisive moments of the international cycling competition will take place in the Alps.
The first week of racing will entirely be carried out in the plains with a course set towards Brittany. There will be cobbled roads early on in the race, before taking on the West of France. Classics specialists will be thrilled.
Suspense and uncertainty are starring the 2015 Tour. With five mountaintop finishes (in the Pyrenees and in the Alps), the Tour is guaranteed to be full of surprises.
The 102nd Grande Boucle will include 21 stages on a 3 344 kilometres course.
