In just a matter of years, Bordeaux Fête le Vin has become the leading European wine tourism event.

Devoted to Aquitaine and Bordeaux wines, it will celebrate its 11th anniversary from 14 to 17 June 2017 along the Bordeaux riverfront, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

On this occasion, 10 cities will be the festival's guests of honour:

The 7 cities in the network of Great Wine Capitals (GWC): Bilbao, Cape Town, Mainz, Mendoza, Porto, San Francisco and Valparaiso as well as the cities having held "Bordeaux Fête le Vin" festivals for several years: Hong Kong, Quebec and Bruxelles.

Meeting Winemakers and Négociants

In a 2 kilometre-long village set up along the Garonne River, the hundreds of thousands of visitors expected will have the chance to meet winemakers and négociants as well as taste their wines with a "pass" by following a genuine itinerary to discover the different Bordeaux wine appellations: Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge, Rosés de Bordeaux, Bordeaux Blanc, Entre- Deux-Mers, Crémant de Bordeaux, Côtes de Bordeaux, Sweet Bordeaux, Médoc et Graves, Saint- Emilion – Pomerol - Fronsac.

Aquitaine wines, "Les Grands Marques de Négoce" partner négociants (Baron de Lestac, Cordier, Millésima, Mouton Cadet) and the Bordeaux Wine School with its initiation sessions, will greet visitors and wine lovers in their completely revamped pavilions.

Food village and entertainment

Several tourism or insitutional pavilions (Bordeaux City Hall, Convention and Tourism office of Bordeaux Métropole, Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Aquitaine Regional Council, Gironde Tourism) and a "food village", open to regional producers, will extend the walking tour.

The festival wouldn't be complete without its wide range of entertainment over the 4-day period, in particular a nightly sound and light show projected onto the majestic facades of the Palais de la Bourse, followed by fireworks set off over the river. Not to mention vineyard tours departing from the festival site (vineyard pass).

Just a stone's throw from the heart of the wine festival, and recognisable at a distance thanks to its spectacular and iconic architecture, the Cité is sure to contribute to consolidating Bordeaux's reputation as a world wine capital.
